Strong Mosquito Repellent

Use a repellent to keep mosquitoes away and prevent bites.


Mosquito bites lead to irritation, itchiness and sometimes even diseases. Mosquito repellents keep them away to prevent bites. Most mosquitoes that can transmit diseases in the USA look for blood meals from dusk to dawn. Does this Spark an idea?


Skin


Skin repellents that contain 20 to 50 percent DEET provide the best protection. Picaridin often provides comparable protection and oil of lemon eucalyptus provides the same level of protection as low concentration DEET products. However, don't use repellents containing more than 30 percent DEET on children under two months of age.


Clothing and Gear


Application of permethrin on clothing and gear kills mosquitoes and and ticks. Mosquitoes that land on material treated with permethrin fall to the ground after a short while. After permethrin dries on treated materials, it provides protection for two weeks.


Area


Some repellents keep mosquitoes away from a treated area. These repellents release chemicals, such as pyrethroids, and come as lanterns and coils. The natural alternative, geraniol candles, provides protection within a radius of three feet.
