Make Natural Repellent For Garden Pests

Insects can be highly destructive to your garden.

Just about anyone who plants and maintains a garden has to deal with pests such as insects. They can not only eat the vegetables that you are trying to grow, they can also eat the plants themselves. You can use chemical insecticides to kill the insects, but these chemicals are often highly toxic and can seep into the environment and the food you're trying to grow. There are several natural repellents you can use in your garden, but one of the most effective is using a garlic-based repellent. You can easily make this at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place 3 oz. of finely minced garlic cloves into 2 tsp. of mineral oil and allow it to soak for 24 hours.

2. Slowly add 1 pint of water to the solution, stirring the solution as you add the water.

3. Pour the solution into a glass jar, straining it as you pour it. This is the concentrated solution you will use as a base for the spray.

4. Pour 1 pint of water into a spray bottle and add 1 to 2 tsp. of the concentrated solution to the water. Shake the spray thoroughly. It is now ready to be sprayed in your garden.
