Make Mosquito Repellent At Home

Mosquitos depend largely on the smell of the body to locate their victims. As a result, there are many different aromatic herbs that can throw mosquitos off the trail. The trick is selecting from among all the different choices and combining them into a mixture that smells nice to you and smells rotten to the mosquitos.

Instructions

1. Go to an herbal store and select one or more fragrances from the above list that you like. If you chose several, try to use scents that go well together.

2. Pour two or three ounces of witch hazel or rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle.

3. Pour about six drops of oil into the bottle. Use one or two drops from each of the oils you have.

4. Close the bottle and shake it up, then spray a small bit on your arm and smell it.

5. Add some more oil and repeat step 4. Keep adding oil until the smell of the mixture is powerful but not strong enough to be overwhelming.

6. Spray the repellent all over your body. Get some on your clothes and be sure to cover all exposed areas of skin.

7. If it doesn't work well enough, try adding new oils into the mixture. Everyone has a different body chemistry so it may take some trial and error to get the mix just right.
