Tell If You Have Roaches

Having roaches in your home is unpleasant, but learning detect them is key to maintaining your health.


No one wants to think that roaches may have taken up residence in their homes because their presence conjures up images of filth and unsanitary conditions. However, roaches can live just about anywhere under just about any conditions as long as three basic necessities are met: food, water and shelter. The main issue with harboring roaches in your home is the diseases they carry, so understanding determine their presence in your home is paramount to keeping your family healthy. Instructions


1. The two most common places to find roaches are in the kitchen and bathroom. The main reason for this is that there is water available for them there. Turn off the lights, wait 30 minutes and turn them back on. If you have roaches, you will usually see them scurrying about after you turn the lights back on.


2. Using a flashlight, look in your cabinets, under your sink and behind your appliances for dead roaches. Another sign of roach infestation is the appearance of dead roaches. Roaches like darkened areas and will spend the majority of their time hidden away in your cabinets and behind your walls. When you begin looking for dead roaches, start by looking under your cabinets and behind your appliances and under the sink.


3. Using your flashlight, look for a black, gritty substance in your cabinets, under your sink, and behind your appliances. Roach feces are commonly found in areas that are inhabited by roaches: your cabinets, behind your appliances and under the sink. Roach feces appear as a black gritty substance, almost like pepper. The more feces present, the more roaches you have.
