Raccoons can prove to be a real nuisance. They are small, but they can cause a lot of damage and trouble. They are very smart and clever. Once they tear up your pool screen, they tend to poop inside of your pool. This is terribly disgusting and makes your pool a toilet instead of a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Not only that, but they ruin your pool screen with rips and tears. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Trap the raccoons. Raccoon traps are made of wire mesh and steel reinforcements. Bait is placed in the back of the trap to lure the raccoon inside. Once the raccoon steps inside, it triggers a door to slam shut, trapping the raccoon inside. Place the trap close to the pool.
2. Relocate the raccoons to a safe and faraway place, at least 10 miles away from any homes.
3. Use some repellents to deter the raccoons. One great repellent is Shake-away. This is a powder that uses the scent of coyote urine to scare away the raccoons. Sprinkle it around your pool.
4. Install motion-activated lights around your pool. Raccoons are nocturnal and tend to stay away from light. Multiple and very bright lights are recommended.
5. Place a waterproof radio near your pool. Raccoons will do their best to avoid humans. If they hear the sound of them talking, the voices will discourage the raccoons from getting too close to your pool. Set the radio to a "talk" station.
6. Add a small amount of ammonia to your trash. Raccoons find this odor offensive.
