Use My Itouch With My Bose

The iTouch can be used with some Bose systems.

How you use your iPod touch -- or iTouch -- with your Bose stereo system truly depends on what kind of system you have. The iTouch can be used with a large variety of Bose systems, including those with built-in iPod dock connectors, such as the Bose SoundDock, and those without, such as the Wave Music System.

Instructions

Using iTouch Without a Dock Connector

1. Insert one end of the 3.5mm auxiliary audio cable into the headphone jack on your iTouch.

2. Insert one end of the 3.5mm auxiliary audio cable into the "Auxiliary In" port on the back of your Bose system. Depending on which model you have, the exact location of the port may vary, but it is typically located next to the headphone jack.

3. Turn the power to your Bose music system on.

4. Press the "Aux" button either the system itself or on the remote control.

5. Turn your iTouch on.

6. Use the Bose's supplied remote control to Play, Pause and skip forward and backward between tracks. To change albums or playlists on your iTouch, simply control it like you would when using headphones.

Using iTouch With a Dock Connector

7. Turn your Bose SoundDock on.

8. Make sure your iTouch is turned on and set to "Play" mode.

9. Place your iTouch into the dock connector on the front of the unit.

10. Use the Bose's supplied remote control to control basic features such as Volume, Play/Pause, fast forward/rewind and to skip tracks forward and backward. Use the iTouch itself to change albums, artists and playlists.
