How Well Do Flea Foggers Work

A flea infestation in your home can be a serious problem. Fleas breed rapidly and feed on blood. Their bites are painful and leave a long-lasting, itchy welt. Flea foggers are often used to eliminate the problem. Foggers provide only moderate control with some some limitations. Does this Spark an idea?

How Foggers Work

Most foggers come in aerosol cans with tabs or buttons that release their contents into the air. The active ingredients hang in the droplets in the air before settling onto surfaces such as floors, furniture and counters.

Flea Locations

Fleas in the home congregate in the areas where there is a food supply such as in pet bedding or around the family sofa. The larvae cling to carpet fibers and other fabrics.

Problem

The chemicals settle on the surface of carpet and never reach to the depths where the larvae live. They also cannot reach under furniture or into folds of drapes or pet bedding.
