Insecticide Fogging For Mosquitoes

Fogging temporarily reduces the number of mosquitoes in an area.

Fogging provides control against mosquitoes in outdoor environments. Some local governments fog for mosquitoes, and homeowners can also fog their own yards and lawns. Fogging only provides short-term protection from mosquitoes. Does this Spark an idea?

Application

A fogger device converts a liquid insecticide into a fog. It works best at dusk when mosquitoes are out looking for food. Fogging usually use pyrethroids, pyrethrins or malathion as the active ingredient.

Types

Fogging kills all the mosquitoes in the treated area with which the fog comes into contact. However, mosquitoes from elsewhere can enter the area after fogging, so it is usually only effective for a few days.

Effects

Insecticides commonly used for fogging pose minimal risk to human health and the environment when used according to product label instructions. Fogging can aggravate pre-existing health conditions of people with chemical sensitivities.
