Reset Propane Tanks

You may need to reset your propane tank if the flames on your grill are low.


If you set your grill to "High" yet the flames it produces are small and not very hot, you could have a problem with your propane tank. Fortunately, the problem is not serious and can be solved by resetting the tank. Resetting a propane tank can be done in a matter of minutes without any kind of professional help. There are a few steps you must follow to ensure that you correctly and safely reset your tank. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Open the lid of your grill.


2. Turn all of the knobs on the grill to "Off."


3. Turn the propane tank off by turning the knob on top of it to the right (counterclockwise) until you can turn it no more.


4. Unscrew the regulator from the tank. The regulator is the hose with the knob on the end of it that screws into the tank and attaches it to the grill. Do not unscrew the regulator from the grill.


5. Wait for half a minute with the tank turned off and the regulator unscrewed. After 30 seconds have passed, screw the regulator back into the tank.


6. Turn on the propane tank by slowly turning the knob on top of it to the left (counterclockwise). Your propane tank is now reset. Turn the grill to "High" to test out the tank. With the reset tank the flames should be hot and high.
